MCI Client Successes

International AIDS Society

Transforming the International AIDS Conference to a Fully Virtual Experience

Three months before the International AIDS Society was scheduled to launch their 2020 conference, COVID forced a different approach. MCI partnered with the organization to transition the event to virtual not missing a beat, integrating multiple technology systems to provide a seamless attendee experience.

The event included scientific and education sessions, workshops, poster presentations, exhibits, performances, demonstrations, and even protests – staying true to the organization’s mission and brand throughout the modified format.

The IAS conference drew a record-breaking 13,600 unique attendees on one day of the conference, and fostered all sponsor and vendor relationships in order to retain every dollar that had been committed.

American Nurses Associations

Exceeding Revenue Goals for ANA’s New Virtual Event

PillarPage_VirtualEvents_Graphics_2-Comp

The American Nurses Associations (ANA) was forced to postpone two of their big 2020 in-person events to 2021 but still wanted to engage their members and fulfill their mission of advancing the nursing profession. So they created a new event: the ANCC Virtual Summit, scheduled for October 2020.

MCI partners with the ANA to deliver sales for their events, and had already sold out exhibits and sponsorships for both 2020 in-person events, but when they postponed and modified their 2020 event calendar to all virtual, the contracts for the live events were null and void – and the sales team had four weeks to sell this first-time online program entirely from scratch.

Using innovative customizable packages that addressed their needs to connect with attendees, MCI exceeded the revenue goal by 20%, maxed out their inventory, and attracted a 50/50 mix of existing vs. new sponsor organizations.

Special Libraries Association

Creating Immediate Engagement with SLA InfoTrends

When the Special Libraries Association (SLA) postponed their annual conference – a primary source of value for members – to allow time to transition to virtual, MCI took quick action to keep members engaged and connected while they waited.

Enter InfoTrends: a half-day virtual event created by MCI that included education sessions with expert speakers on technology and innovation, several moderated discussion groups, and open networking time. The highly interactive program provided opportunity for meaningful engagement, and the timing purposefully accommodated multiple time zones for this international association.

Attendees praised the event for providing many of the same benefits that come with the in-person event, and are now looking forward to the fully virtual annual conference in October 2020.

National Association of Black Accountants

Reimagining the NABA 2020 Convention

PillarPage_VirtualEvents_Graphics_4-Comp

The National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) had three months to reimagine their National Convention & Expo from in-person to virtual.

As MCI worked with them to transition the event, there were several primary focuses:

  • Continuing education options
  • A job fair – especially important to student members, and
  • A healthy portfolio of sponsors and partners.

MCI expertly modified the program from 4 days to 2 days – specially tailoring it to the virtual environment by choosing the best tech platform to align with the organization’s high-energy mix of sessions and activities. This also offered the opportunity to provide a variety of both live and on-demand content, including an intro video to engage potential attendees.

How we can help?

MCI partners with associations to design virtual event strategies that resonate with members and advance the organizational mission – beyond the closing session.
